					THE ASPEN ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP TEAM RECIEVED 
					24 OUTSDANDING PERFORMANCE AWARDS 
					FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION 
					FOR A THOROUGH REVIEW OF 41 PROPOSED NEW
					POWER PLANTS
				 
				
					Twenty-four members of the Aspen Environmental Group team received awards for
					Outstanding Performance and letters of commendation from the California Energy
					Commission. The awards were presented at a luncheon on at the Sacramento
					Convention Center in November 2002.
				 
				
					 
					Aspen supported the California Energy Commission's staff in reviewing the increasing
					numbers of applications for permanent and emergency power plants that were submitted
					in response to the 2001 energy crisis. Aspen won the contract to provide Siting Peak
					Workload assistance and assisted in the reviews of new Applications for Certification
					for all 41 proposed power plant projects (12,816 Megawatts) in the State since the
					crisis. Aspen has assisted the Energy Commission in carefully reviewing these
					Applications to ensure that they comply with California State and Federal regulations
					that protect public health and safety and the environment.
				 
				
					 
					Aspen's was commended for outstanding efforts, such as assembling review team made
					up of 15 scientists and planners over one weekend, staffing  the review teams for
					41 plant applications with highly experienced experts, tracking over 600 work
					authorizations, and managing a team of over 50 subcontractors who expertly served
					the Energy Commission.
				 
				
					Aspen employees receiving awards were: Program Manager Dr. Hamid Rastegar, Deputy
					Program Manager Thomas Murphy, Negar Vahidi, Elise Camacho, Susan Lee, James Brewster
					Birdsall, Christian Huntley, Christopher Meyer, and William Walters.
				 
				
					 
					The Aspen Team subcontractors who received awards were: Dr. Patrick Pilling,
					Jim Buntin, Dr. Noel Davis, Dr. Roger Mason, Steven Brown, John Kessler, Linda Bond,
					Lynn Alexander, Michael Clayton, Jim Henneforth, Jim Bartridge, Mary Maniery, Dr. Alvin
